Marlene is a light and airy tea-length dress with I-cord ties. It has a fitted body and a dropped waist. The skirt is wide and flowy. Wear it on its own for a sheer look or style it with an oversized t-shirt, jacket, or slip dress underneath.

The dress is worked top-down, holding two strands of Kid Silk together throughout. The front and back pieces are worked separately back and forth in stockinette st, then joined to work in the round. The waist is shaped with decreases and increases. The skirt is worked in a simple openwork pattern created with yarn-overs. Finally, I-cord ties are added in a contrasting color.
